Our Favorite Downtown Austin Wedding Venues
One of the coolest parts of being in the event industry is witnessing all of the creativity that comes out of Texas Hill Country. Austin is home to so many amazing event and wedding venues, and we’ve been lucky enough to be at some amazing parties at most of them.
We thought it would be fun to highlight some of our favorite event spaces in the city, starting with the most unique downtown Austin wedding venues. Each one has its own unique character and history as part of the downtown core. Without further ado, in no particular order, here are our favorites!
The Riley Building
The Riley Building has been a staple of the Warehouse District since 1928, and it has an amazing industrial vibe that modern couples love. It has two different spaces: the main hall and the rooftop, and they both show off sweeping views of the downtown Austin skyline.

The Allan House
For our couples looking for the most romantic wedding venue ever, the Allan House delivers an unforgettable downtown experience. The 1883 Victorian mansion takes you back to another time. It’s hard to believe that this wedding is situated in the heart of downtown because it feels like a dreamy oasis getaway.
The mansion is gorgeous with original wood floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, crystal chandeliers, and wraparound porches. The lush green courtyard is canopied in oak trees, and in the winter, a heated tent is included with the space.
Chateau Bellevue
Looking for a romantic French getaway in the heart of downtown Austin? Chateau Bellevue is a breathtaking venue from another time and place. The venue was built in 1874, and you feel the years of history as soon as you step foot onto the intimate courtyard.
The architecture at Chateau Bellevue is unlike anything else you typically find in Texas. From the beautiful French arches to the elegant Chateau ballroom, this venue is truly one-of-a-kind. When you book this venue, you have access to several different spaces, so it’s great for weddings of all sizes.
The Austin Club
Located in the historic Millet Opera House, the Austin Clubs offers a gorgeous ballroom and impressive chef for sophisticated and upscale weddings. It’s around the corner from several churches and cathedrals, so many couples choose to have a church ceremony and move to the Medallion Ballroom for the reception. However, you can also use the ballroom for your ceremony if you want to do it all in one place.
The stunning ballroom features high ceilings, sparkling chandeliers, a large dance floor, a mahogany bar, and a balcony overlooking the city.
Springdale Station
This converted train station is another wedding venue that’s brimming with Texas history. For an east downtown venue, it’s an exceptionally expansive space. It has one acre of outdoor space and wide-open indoor space that’s the perfect blank canvas to transform into the wedding of your dreams.
Springdale Station has plenty of history, but the renovations have made it a modern and contemporary event space that fits right into the culture of Austin. The light and bright aesthetic create a lively atmosphere that fun couples love. Photos by Bonnie Burke Photo.
Brazos Hall
For our couples looking for a sleek and industrial downtown Austin wedding venue, you’ll love the Brazos Hall on East 4th Street. It’s a turn-of-the-century warehouse that includes a massive hall with brick walls, restored wood floors, and wood rafters. The space also has a 3,500 square-foot rooftop deck with great views of downtown.
Both spaces are completely customizable with whatever decor you want. Your out-of-town guests will love the urban experience that this venue offers.
The Caswell House
Located near the Texas Capital, you can’t get much more “deep in the heart of Texas” than the Caswell House. In fact, the second floor of this stunning Victorian house offers a great view of the capitol dome. This venue is perfect for elegant and intimate weddings. It’s also one of the more flexible venues when it comes to what vendors you can use, which is a huge plus.
The wraparound porch makes this home warm and inviting, and it’s a gorgeous spot for an outdoor ceremony. The first floor includes a historic parlor and librarian that you can use as a holding place for guests before beginning the reception in the main hall on the second floor.
800 Congress
800 Congress is a warehouse-turned-venue that feels more like an intimate tavern thanks to the rustic white brick walls. The whole space is romantic and warm and features stunning minimalistic lighting that adds to the cozy vibe. It’s the perfect space for a candlelight dinner.
Even though it has an intimate atmosphere, this venue is actually quite a large space. Along with the large hall, it includes a 1300 square-foot patio that offers views of the Texas Capitol, Paramount Theatre, and State Theatre.
The Eleanor
If you want to take the stress out of wedding planning by booking an all-inclusive downtown event space, The Eleanor is perfect for you. Located in the Warehouse District, this idyllic venue offers catering, bar services, staffing, entertainment, rentals, photography, videography, and more.
The Eleanor is an eclectic retro space that includes a large dance floor, lounge with a gorgeous wraparound bar, balcony, and a mezzanine. Both floors have full-service bars, and there’s even a removable stage for live bands.
